The Julia Smith Collection is bespoke fashion with a portfolio covering bridal gowns, evening dress, corsets, and frock coats.
Each piece is designed individually and developed to suit each client completely. Key to the design process is the fabric – its inherent structural qualities informing the cut and fold of the garment. Designs are created in both antique and highly modern materials.

Dresses can feature details such as bustling and lacing and can be complimented with wraps and frock coats, bridesmaid dresses and flowergirl outfits. Cravats and ribbon garters for the groom and best man can also be created to compliment the bride.

How it works:
The first meeting of designer and bride will cover initial ideas, likes and dislikes, the timescale for production (6-9 months is usual, although shorter production time can sometimes be managed), and other detail such as time of year, venue and form or ceremony.
After this meeting a series of inital sketches will be created and a selection of fabric samples sourced. To be followed by a further meeting to discuss.

If the bride likes some of the ideas they will be developed further and the design will be costed.

Once confirmed a contract will be drawn up outlining timescale and fittings, expected costs etc. 50% of the cost will be due at this point with the remaining fee due on the final fitting and handover.
